Bridges is a great book! I wish I had it recently teaching a class on Missions and Evangelism. I was very dissatisfied that all the resources I had on evangelism were the traditional way of presenting the gospel when that is just not what we encounter in society today. Cross-cultural missionaries are trained to understand religious worldviews and communicate the gospel in a context that can be received. Diminishing evangelistic success in our own country is due to our failure to recognize and understand differing worldviews in our own society. This book on bridging worldviews is a long, overdue resource that will equip the reader for more effective sharing of the gospel.

He has attempted to equip us with the tools to choose and understand our own worldview … and to defend it. The real skill is found in how accessible he has made some very difficult material. He has written to “Everyman” and has the means to communicate this very important material in a way that makes this book an important book for any Christian to read.

After reading Freddy Davis’ book, Culture Wars, I invited Freddy to do a Worldview Seminar at Pioneer Baptist Church in Crawfordville, Florida. Freddy conducted the one day seminar as a “kick-off” for our revival that began the following day.  Freddy explained why it is important to understand different worldviews and how to recognize each one.  He provided several tools the attendees could use to give them confidence in witnessing to others who hold to different worldview than theirs. Freddy’s down to earth teaching and his enthusiasm to share his knowledge of this topic was well received.  I highly recommend Freddy’s seminar and books to anyone, particularly pastors, who are interested in gaining a better understanding of how to reach others in our constant changing society.

In Culture Wars, Freddy Davis presents an evangelical understanding of culture as the intricate interplay of eternal design and cultural choices in an effort to call the church back to a biblical understanding of her design and purpose.

Prayer has always been the weakest of the spiritual disciplines for me.  Praying is not for Wimps has challenged me again to go deeper with God in prayer.  It will do the same for you!
