I just came across an article with the headline: ‘Third Gender’ Official in Germany from November. The article indicates that Germany is set to become the first country in Europe to introduce a third “indeterminate” gender designation on birth certificates. In addition to the standard choices of “male” or “female,” parents may also opt out of determining their baby’s gender so the child can make his or her own choice later in life.
This is so absurd that it borders on insanity. But here we are anyway – allowing people to choose what gender they are based on how they feel. This kind of madness is already making its way to America where certain states, like California, are implementing laws which allow school children to choose what sex they want to be and use restrooms, gym facilities, and even choose sports teams based on their “feelings” about their sexuality.
The truth is, people are born either male or female. There is not a third sex. And those who “feel” like a different sex either have some kind of chemical imbalance in their bodies or a psychological problem. But none of that changes the reality of their actual sexual identity. The solution to this is medical or psychological help, not imposing their actual sexuality on members of the opposite sex in private settings.
And yes, all of this has a worldview basis. Christian Theism is based a belief in the existence of an objective reality. A person’s sex is what it is and there is an objective moral standard which governs how sexuality should be expressed. Naturalism, on the other hand, claims that material reality is objectively real, but bases its moral beliefs in subjectivity – acknowledging alternative sexual possibilities based on feelings.
Third gender? It’s a fantasy! And by trying to impose the fantasy on society, as if it were actual reality, will put the entire culture in a fantasy world. It cannot, and will not, end well.
