Have you ever been frustrated with the level of your Christian faith? You want to be more committed and active in living out and sharing your faith, but somehow just don’t seem to be able to be consistent. Believe me, this is not an unusual problem. If you look around, you will see many people who claim to be Christians but are not faithful in their Christian life – probably most are less faithful than you are. So, what is the problem and what is the solution?
In a nutshell, it is a worldview problem. We live out our worldview no matter what it is. And when we find ourselves not living up to what we believe we ought regarding our Christian faith, this tells us that there are non-Christian beliefs which have crept into our worldview foundation. This should not be surprising given the state of the culture we swim in. Unless we are consciously aware of the issues we face, it is almost impossible not to be influenced by the many non-Christian elements of modern culture.
So, what can we do about it? We need to buck up and build our Christian worldview foundation. I won’t sugar coat the difficulty of this. It means that we have to become more fully discipled in our Christian faith and we have to fight against the sin nature which is part and parcel of our life on earth.
The first part (becoming discipled) is the basis for the second (fighting against our sin nature). And while this may involve hard work, it is not impossible. In fact, it is exactly what God has called us to do. And he has given us the power to make it happen. The primary purpose of MarketFaith Ministries is to help you with the discipling part; We are a Lay Seminary in a Can.
